Discussing Fees and Costs
It is important that you discuss fees when you first meet with your lawyer. You have a right to know how you will be charged, how much the case is likely to cost, and when you have to pay.
At Sealey Law Offices, we want you to be satisfied not only with the service provided, but also with the fee you are charged. Understanding beforehand how legal services will be paid for will avoid misunderstandings and help you decide if we are right for you.
Fee Arrangements
While much legal work is charged by the hour, litigation is often billed through a contingent fee.
With a contingent fee arrangement, the lawyer receives no fee unless money is recovered for the client. Upon recovery, the lawyer is paid an agreed-upon percentage. With Sealey Law Offices, you receive a written fee agreement outlining the contingent fee percentage along with other anticipated costs and expenses.
Please remember, even if there is no recovery, the client is still responsible for court costs and related expenses.
